The Cemetery Office is based at St Mary’s College, Oscott.
The Catholic funeral liturgy refers to the grave as 'a sign of hope'. This may seem strange to us but we recall that on Easter Sunday the holy women found the tomb of Jesus empty.
Jesus has died but is risen to a new and glorious life: heaven. Death is no longer the end - it is the gateway to the life that God promises through His risen Son.
The Oscott cemetery is a sign of hope, that one day we will be reunited with our loved ones in the Lord’s presence.

Extending the Grant of Exclusive Right of Burial
If you are aware that your deed has reached the term of 75 years, you can apply to extend the lease to 100 years.
Application for this extension should be made in writing to the Cemetery Office. You should include your original Deed and a new one will be issued.
There is a cost for the lease extension (by 25 years), currently a third of the cost of a new plot.
For further clarification please contact the Cemetery Office.
Family and friends of those who are buried at Oscott Cemetery are warmly invited each November to a Service of the Blessing of Graves, a commemoration of all the faithful departed buried in our Cemetery.
The Service begins with some prayers and reflection with the whole seminary community in the main square of the Cemetery. Family and friends are then invited to gather at the graveside of their loved one and one of the priests or seminarians will come to pray alongside them and bless the grave with Holy Water.
Many of our guests have found this a deeply moving service and a beautiful opportunity to remember and pray for loved ones.

The beating heart of college life, our chapel is also a masterwork of architect Augustus Welby Pugin who believed that beautiful sacred spaces had the power to stir people’s imagination and inspire them to find God in prayer and worship.
