Hope of eternal life

The Catholic funeral liturgy refers to the grave as 'a sign of hope'. This may seem strange to us but we recall that on Easter Sunday the holy women found the tomb of Jesus empty.

Jesus has died but is risen to a new and glorious life: heaven. Death is no longer the end - it is the gateway to the life that God promises through His risen Son.

The Oscott cemetery is a sign of hope, that one day we will be reunited with our loved ones in the Lord’s presence.

Right of Burial

Extending the Grant of Exclusive Right of Burial

‍If you are aware that your deed has reached the term of 75 years, you can apply to extend the lease to 100 years.

Application for this extension should be made in writing to the Cemetery Office. You should include your original Deed and a new one will be issued.

There is a cost for the lease extension (by 25 years), currently a third of the cost of a new plot.

New burial plot for two persons: £3000.00
First interment into a new plot: £1300.00
Total for a new grave: £4300.00

Cremation Plot for two: £1000.00
Burial of cremated remains: £500.00

Re-opening of grave:
1 depth: £1200.00
2 depths: £1300.00

New Memorial: £100.00
Additional Inscription: £75.00

Issue of declaration for loss of grave deeds: £75
Transfer of ownership of grave deeds: £75

Historic/genealogy search: £10

No other party will have access to the information you provide. The information provided by you will then be kept on our cemetery database. No other party has access to this database.
